About Featherstone
Featherstone is a former mining town located in West Yorkshire, in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of the United Kingdom. It is situated about five miles north-east of Pontefract and is home to around eleven thousand people. The town has a rich history, with its past closely tied to the coal industry, but it has since diversified into a more residential settlement. There are plenty of local amenities, such as shops, schools, and leisure centres, and the town is well-connected to nearby cities such as Leeds and Wakefield, making commuting easy. The surrounding countryside is also easily accessible, offering plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities.
